STUDiO RECORDING AND MiXiNG
While recording at home is affordable, there are many great things about having the extra cash to go in to a professionally built recording studio to make a demo or album.
When you record in a proper studio you get access to tons of expensive gear that is not practical to buy for your own use. You will get to utilize the same vintage microphones, preamps, compressors and reverbs that were used to make the best sounding albums in history. Usually a pro studio also has a wild assortment of vintage guitars, amps, keyboards, pianos and drums that are available to use as well.
The rooms at many pro recording studios were built specifically for recording/ mixing music and have been labored over and acoustically tuned to sound great so that you don’t have to second guess what you are hearing. Isolation booths, a good headphone system, and a comfy lounge area are more benefits of working in a pro studio.
In a pro studio situation you usually end up with about $15,000 worth of mics on the drums alone, 2-3 mics on each guitar and bass amp etc. It is a lot different than recording in most home studios.
I have access to some of the best recording studios in the Seattle area. I can find a solution for your next recording project regardless of budget.
